A Teen Confronts Her Drinking Friends To Dig Up More Information About Alcohol Abuse And Alcohol Addiction
Heather drank on a usual basis with her drinking buddies. One Friday after all of her classes were finished, she began thinking about the amount of alcohol she ingested and the irresponsible drinking of her pals. As a result of this, she politely asked all of her drinking buddies the following question: "what do we honestly know about binge drinking, alcoholism, alcohol abuse, and alcohol poisoning? In other words, how much alcoholism and alcohol abuse information do we truly know? For our age, we obviously drink a great deal and I am really beginning to wonder if we are headed for a life filled with alcohol-associated difficulties down the road.
I believe that we need to go on the Internet and learn all that we can about alcoholism, alcohol poisoning, binge drinking, and alcohol abuse. And then if we have any questions that we cannot understand after we conclude our web research, we can take a hike to the student health center at the college and ask Nurse Grainger to help us understand what we do not know.
It should not come as a complete shock that what Heather articulated would cause a heated discussion. For example, her best friend since the ninth grade, Maeve, articulated that they are too young and too healthy to be concerned about excessive and irresponsible drinking. Another drinking pal named Alexander figured that since most teenagers drink there is no commonsensical reason why they should be any different. Another buddy named Annabelle said that all she wants to do is to have fun drinking with her friends. And still another friend named Dean in fact agreed with Heather primarily because his parents were both alcohol abusers and both of his parents had a history of alcohol related problems.
Heather openly mentioned to her buddies that she comprehended everything that they had articulated but that getting involved in irresponsible drinking at such a young age in all honesty cannot be very healthy or something that contributes toward establishing a worthwhile life. When a couple of her buddies asked what kind of alcohol problems Heather was referring to, Heather articulated the following: alcohol-related problems like alcohol poisoning (which can be fatal in some instances), alcohol-related traffic accidents and fatalities, and alcoholism and alcohol-related diseases such as heart disease, cirrhosis of the liver, and cancer.
When Heather then stressed that abusive and irresponsible drinking usually results in school, financial, relationship, and legal problems, some of her drinking friends finally started to understand how far reaching and how damaging careless and excessive drinking can be. Without a doubt some of her drinking pals became more open and began divulging how these alcoholism and alcohol abuse effects had affected their parents and some of their friends.
After going over some of the alcoholism and alcohol abuse problems that are related to abusive and unhealthy drinking, the majority of her drinking friends seemed to agree to the idea about getting information on the web. They were, conversely, uneasy about discussing their drinking behavior with anyone at school. As Heather reflected on this she whispered to herself, "at least they are open to finding out more about their unhealthy and abusive drinking. This is a good start."
