My niece is preparing for her wedding day for the end of June. I made the decision to have a wedding shower for her at our home. Her favorite flowers have always been daisies and carnations. I went to the area farmers market the day before the shower and bought large bunches of daisies & carnations to make flower arrangements for the shower. I had gone to the floral shop the week before to buy flower arrangements, but after seeing the prices I decided to make them myself. The florist is the person that suggested that I go to the farmers market to buy the flowers, particularly since they were both in season. I thought it may be like a flea market as well, & I could pick up some wholesale wedding favors. By buying the flowers that were in season I was able to save even more.

When I got back to my house from the farmers market I cut the daisies & carnations to different lengths & made arrangements in three crystal vases to place around the home. I had enough flowers left to do a small arrangement for the bathrooms. It is always an appreciated touch to place fresh-cut flowers in the bath-room when you're entertaining. When you do your own flower arrangements you can utilize your own vases, which adds to the personal touch.

The morning of the bridal shower I checked the flower arrangements to see if they required more water. They were still looking fresh & the bright colors of the flowers gave the rooms feels warm & homey.

My niece enjoyed the lovely & generous gifts that the guests had brought. And she hadn't even seen the wholesale wedding favors I bought yet! We visited & gave pieces of advice to the bride about having a long and glad marriage. I had framed some pics that I had gotten from the mom of the bride and mom of the groom. I had pictures of the two of them growing up as well as photos of the two of them on various vacations that they've taken together. My niece was so satisfied with these that she decided to use them at the wedding day reception also, along with the wholesale wedding favors. We also ate a light lunch and had cake that I had also adorned with freshly cut flowers.
