For real drama, hang a small iron chandelier from the ceiling...even if you'll never use it for lighting. If you have space, a simple black or white iron chair with a florals seat cushion adds a dash of romance.

Display French accessories on your shelves along with fluffy towels. Pottery, or small tins with French advertising on them work well. Search for a few old French books. Use colorful earthenware bowls to hold soap, sponges, jewellery or whatever else needs a place. Place a sprig of lavender in an old glass jar on your vanity.
